John P. Murphy (PhD, Northwestern University, 2017) is the Hoehn Curatorial Fellow for Prints at the University of San Diego and the co-founder of Island Farm Press. He curated Flesh: Ivan Albright (Art Institute of Chicago, 2018) and co-curated The Left Front: Radical Art in the “Red Decade," 1929-1940 (Block Museum of Art, 2014). His research triangulates prints, craft, and politics.

His prints and drawings often feature solitary people or things, but he is now reconsidering that theme.
